So I did a really unclassy thing today. It started with a bunch of 10-ish year olds making noise and having a jolly old time treating the dinner place we were at like their home, where they are obviously kings and queens as their parents did nothing to ask them to give the rest of the restaurant some peace and at times even talked louder than them. This went on for half an hour while my dad fumed at the next table. Then one of the parents asked for the bill but it was full house so the waitresses were not very attentive and the kids thought it would be fun to start a chorus of "EXCUSE ME" across the entire restaurant to get the attention of the staff at the other end. When they had hit the highest note, tired and cranky old dad snapped and shouted "OI!" at them. And the drama began. -cue um, dramatic music-

Kids Mum shouts back at him : EXCUSE ME, DO YOU MIND?

And classy me snaps back: LADY, your kids have been disturbing the entire restaurant for the last half hour!

Kids Mum: LIKE YOU SAID, THEY ARE KIDS!

Then Dad goes on about how it's not their bloody house, and kids mum shouts back it's not your (dad's) bloody house either. So the whole restaurant went deathly silent (it was a pretty cool effect) but slowly everybody else just went on eating. Then when the kids started making noise again, the mum went 'Don't make so much noise or the uncle will shout at you again!'

Sigh, I know I made a huge mistake to snap back because I shouldn't have lowered myself to their level and I feel really ape-ish now but I felt really bad for my Dad. And then I felt worst after when I realise that I was becoming him. I love him and everything but he does not have the highest EQ and he knows he is stuck in a rut but refuses to do anything about it and just spends his time watching tv and complaining about how other families can be so happy but not ours. Ironically, he hints that its because other families have kids that will bring them joy and happiness forever and pressures my sister to get married soon blahblahblah.

So yeah. I feel really squirmish and excuse me while I go pick fleas off my back.

At least there's goofy!Colin to cheer me up:

Source

Ok not that dramatic but it's definitely not doing good things to it. Also I'm getting cross eyed from staring at the computer all day.

ANYWAYS. Loads of stuff to squee about like how much love Tina Fey is getting from the Emmys, how the whole cast of Mamma Mia! is so damn cute and all that, how TDK was bigger than awesome and how much I'm loving Weeds this season. Like I'm-so-invested-in-every-storyline-&-not-annoyed-by-anyone-in-the-cast-love. Welcome back show. But I didn't have to pay for my ticket so there I was sitting 4 rows from the screen because every damn screening was sold out and Warner Bros/Christopher Nolan is gonna make a shitload of money this weekend.

Halfway through the movie: Cool effects...nice shooting of HK...Joker is so much more fun than Batman...I can't recognise Heath in this makeup...zomg how long is this show?...this show is totally overhyped...man, the makeup on Twoface brings back memories of Mars Attack! which gave me endless nightmares when I was a kid...WTF THEY KILLED GARY OLDMAN?! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THIS MOVIE SUCKS!

Then the last quarter movie happened and I took all the negative stuff back, except the long LONG duration of the movie, and really wanted to applaud everyone involved. I think everybody really appreciated the IMMENSE EFFORT the writers put into this show to make it so much more than a summer popcorn movie. Bringing in concepts like how powerful fear is, that some people are pure evil because they enjoy it and how people ditch others when its convenient, which not many movies even bother to do, much less a blockbuster that everyone will watch was truly amazing. Heath was brilliant and while I'm sad that I could never see him on screen again, I'm kinda happy for him because I know he is immensely proud of his work here as it was phenomenal. BUT I did not care for Batman's lameass gravely voice. WTF WAS THAT? Also, the way he could trace everybody through their cellphones was frighteningly cool because you just know that technology existed 10 years ago.

So yeah TDK rocked and everybody should see it in the theaters because they do deserve every single cent it earns.

Weeds is just awesome this season. I love the new direction it is taking and it's making me discover my deep love for Nancy despite the crap she puts her family through. MLP is very VERY underrated.

edit: This definitely needs to be mentioned: the Nancy/Celia hoyay stuff is very hawt and badass. Lost tooth and all.

Ok, I woke up to really bad news regarding Rogi's lost and I was super bummed out the whole day. Then I went to tutor this really sweet/blur kid and his whole family was so warm and nice, it was pretty cool.

Then I found out that capslock30rock was created which is pretty much one of the most awesome things ever because I do need another outlet to gush about how great this show is.

ALSO, I came home to a package from UNIVERSAL and guess wad? That button campaign for the Emmy's that Universal held online and which I submitted my address as a joke since I live on a whole other continent 24 hours away from New York: SENT ME THE WHOLE FUCKING PACKAGE OF BUTTONS. I have my Baldwin-Fey button (which is so awesome I can't even..), a BELIEVE-IN-STEVE button (woo!) and a HUGH FUCKING LAURIE button!!! (plus many other buttons from shows I don't watch. I do like the Conan is our man and the Give me LIFE or Give me Death! ones). BUTTON CLASSICS!!heh.

So thank you cosmic forces of the world for turning my day around so tremendously. I hope they gave some hugs to Roger though. That interview with McEnroe was heartbreaking.

oh yeah, they showed the Friends episode of Alec this morning and he just looked like he was having a lot of fun. Also, Man of the Year was on tv this past weekend and Tina appeared out of nowhere and I basically spazzed out in front of my parents like an idiot.
